How To Make The Best BBQ Food

Sharing is caring!

Having a BBQ is a great excuse to dine outside and relax. For some people, it is only in the summer months that they can enjoy outside dining. Therefore, it is always a good idea to make the most of it and make it fun, which means making the best food.

Whether or not you are a keen chef, it is always worthwhile taking on board some tips and ideas when it comes to BBQ food. There is no excuse for being dull with the food. After all, you might only have a few a year. Plus, if you want to impress your friends and family, you will want to make the best BBQ food possible.

On that note, here are some tips for how to make the best BBQ food.

Make the food fun

Whether or not you are having children at your BBQ, there is no harm in making the food fun and child-like. For instance, you could make ham sliders for your party instead of serving traditional sandwiches.

Or, you could cut your fruit into funky shapes and decorate the drinks. Making the food look fun will make the BBQ more fun and the food much more appealing.

Don’t forget to use sauces

Although any food from a BBQ can taste delicious because of the charcoal-grilled flavor, you can make it much tastier if you add sauces.

For instance, adding ranch sauce to make ranch pork chops can instantly transform a standard dish into something more exciting.

And use herbs and spices too

As well as sauces, it will be good to use a mixture of herbs and spices to add even more flavor to your dishes.

Sauces can be added before or after cooking. Yet, herbs and spices should ideally be added to the food before cooking so that the meat or vegetables can soak up the flavors.

However, they can be added after if you are making a salad.

Try meat alternatives

Although BBQs are notorious for serving meat, it is also a great idea to try meat alternatives. This can be ideal if you are catering to someone who doesn’t eat meat. Or, simply because you want to try something different.

For instance, you can serve meat burgers as well as fish or halloumi burgers. There are also plenty of meat-free substitutes out that, that mimic meat yet do not contain animal products. This will take your experimentation with BBQ cooking to the next level and create an entirely new BBQ experience for you and your guests.

Slow cook

Sometimes people throw food onto the BBQ when it is as hot as possible and end up scorching the outside and not cooking it through properly. Or, burning the entire thing. This can ruin the food and the BBQ experience.

Instead, it can be a good idea to slow cook. This simply means keeping your BBQ at a lower temperature and cooking each ingredient for longer. This can benefit any dish from meat to vegetable skewers. You might find that the dishes taste more flavorsome than usual.

Try something unique

Most people will think of hot dogs, burgers, and skewers when they think of BBQ food. However, the grill can be used in many different ways. For instance, you could create a curry and cook it in a BBQ-proof dish. Or, you could slow cook fish to put into a pasta. You don’t have to follow any rules when it comes to cooking, especially a BBQ.

Hence, you should take it upon yourself to try something new and unique. Even if it takes a few attempts to get it right, you will eventually work out how to master the recipe and make it the best dish possible. Although you might feel more comfortable with cooking a BBQ how everyone else does, you will soon notice who invites themselves over to yours for a BBQ when you make tasty and unique dishes that nobody else bothers to make.

Whether or not you have your own BBQ recipes, it is always a good idea to experiment and try out new things. There are no rules when it comes to BBQ cooking. You will find new ways of cooking as well as discover new flavors and preferences. The more that you experiment with your BBQ food, the more yummy dishes you will end up making. Simply adding a sauce or being inventive with how you serve your food can make your dishes taste ten times better.
