I’m still a bit surprised that Halloween is here. The weather keeps flip-flopping between cool fall-like days and warm Indian Summer-like days. I do see the leaves starting to change colors, and pretty soon they will start to fall and making giant leaf piles will be a weekend activity to kids and dogs will enjoy. Until then, we can start to get into the fall spirit with a head start on fun Halloween treats, like these super easy Chocolate Covered Monster Eyes Spoons! Use these as a classroom treat or your spoon for hot chocolate.
12 plastic white spoons
Wilton lavender chocolate melts
Wilton orange chocolate melts
Wilton vibrant green chocolate melts
Wilton large white candy eyes
Wilton small white candy eyes
Wilton large green and yellow candy eyes
1. Line a baking sheet with waxed paper and set aside.
2. In a small microwave bowl, melt the purple chocolate candies for 45 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir until melted and smooth. (You may have to microwave in additional 10 second increments, depending on your microwave wattage).
3. Dip four of the plastic spoons into the melted purple chocolate and place on the baking sheet. Before the chocolate hardens, add your candy eyes to each spoon. Be creative and mix the sizes and colors up. The crazier, the better!
4. Repeat step 3 using the orange candy melts and the green candy melts.
