Britney Spears. My FIRST concert, 12 years ago, with my mom. I won the tickets through a radio station. We were picked up in a towne car, with a driver who was from Egypt.
I know it’s not big – she follows over 400k other people. It might be more special if I was just one of a few thousand. I still think it’s cool.
So Britney, if you for some crazy reason see this post, please know that your concert at The Palace of Auburn Hills during your Baby One More Time Tour, March 14 2000 (with opening act LFO!) is engraved in my memory. You see, my mom wasn’t too excited about it. A 4 hour drive there and then back, surrounded by ear-piercing screams for 2 hours, not really her cup of tea. But she did it for me. I need to find my pictures from that night. We were in the 19th row, on the floor. When you flew out over the stage during, “Don’t Let Me Be The Last To Know”, I remember crying. Ah, I was such a huge fan and having the best night of my life. Thank you for that. My mom has passed away from cancer, but that concert was one of the best memories I have of her and the sacrifices she made for me.
