Sugar Cookie Bars

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Frosting
- 6 tablespoons butter, softened
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Sprinkles and food coloring, optional
Instructions
- First preheat oven to 375 degrees
- In a large bowl, mix together the butter, sugar, and powdered sugar until it is light and fluffy.
- Then add the eggs and vanilla.
- Next, stir in the flour baking powder, and salt.
- Grease a 13x9 in pan and spread your cookie dough into the pan.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes (It is important that you do not overcook them)
- Let bars cool completely before frosting and cutting
Frosting
- Combine the powdered sugar and butter. Add in the vanilla and mix everything until combined. If it needs a bit more thickening, add a little more powdered sugar.
