This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Dove Hair, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #LoveYourCurls #pmgdove http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV
If you like me, emojis are an essential part of your texting. Something like 74% of people use emojis every day and I’m proud to be one of them. They just add a little something special to your messages. Sometimes, all it takes is one emoji to tell the whole story. But after a while, the emojis lose their luster. The hairstyles are a bit dated. And by that, I mean they all have straight hair.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t have straight hair unless I use product and a hair straightener. I have “naturally wavy” hair – in other words, it’s wavy, it’s curly, it’s poofy – it’s nothing like the current emojis.
But now my emojis can actually represent ME – because the Love Your Curls emoji keyboard from Dove Hair is here!
Look at those options!
Do you want to know why I love these emojis? It’s all about self-expression and being true to who you are. With the Internet and social media, it’s so easy to hide behind a screen and a keyboard. It’s so easy to tell a little lie and not be “you” anymore. If you look at it from a business and branding point of view, it’s so important to stay true to yourself, to who you are and what you stand for. If you look at it from a mother’s point of view, a mother wants her daughter to love herself no matter what. We are not made to fit into one mold. Some of us are born with straight hair, some of us have frizz, or waves, or tight little curls. No matter what we have, we should love our hair. Our faces. Our bodies. We should love ourselves.
Look at those curls. Do you know what it takes to get curls like that? Nothing. For my little girl, she wakes up with curls like that. I know that as she gets older she is going to face issues with her body and wanting to fit in, but it’s my responsibility to love her no matter what. I want her to love herself no matter what. She should love these curls! She should care for them, and twist them around her finger without a care in the world for what others think of her.
Just look at that – her very first curl. Yes, I took a picture of it. From that very first curl I’ve loved her hair!
Dove Hair inspires me to use my new #LoveYourCurls emojis to show that I am beautiful and I have curls. That my daughter has curls and is beautiful.
