I love shopping at Aldi for the basics and special treats (we love their Fit ‘n’ Active dried fruits!), so when MomCentral had a campaign for shopping their for holiday parties I knew I wanted to be a part of that! I was given $50 in gift certificates to do some shopping.
We headed there armed with little idea for what we wanted. It’s always more fun to browse, especially when they have name brands and new products rotating in all the time.
We found this wine…
Which is only $3.39! For one bottle! At that price, it makes it so easy to serve even a large party and select several different varieties!
For easy party snacks, we went with a variety of wafer cookies, crackers, summer sauce and cheese (not pictured, but we picked up mild cheddar and colby jack). The coffee is common sense, not everyone is going to want alcohol and coffee is perfect for the designated driver to stay nice and alert!
There are so many options for food and wine pairings at Aldi, you really can’t go wrong. You can shop for an adult party and serve alcohol and more ‘exotic’ foods, or you can serve a menu more appropriate for a family like we did, and offer cookies, crackers, cheese, and meat.
Want to make a strawberry cheesecake like this one?
I found a box mix, I believe Jell-O No Bake, for only $1.99! All it took from my own kitchen was 1.5 cups of milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 5 tablespoons of butter! Do you know how many delicious cheesecakes you can make for that price? You could make these as mini cheesecakes too, but I decided to whip up a big one (and it only took an hour!). I am no chef, as you can tell, but trust me, it’s delicious!
Because I already shop at Aldi for basic items we use all the time, I have no problem going back for special occasions! The quality of food is great, being able to bag my own groceries how I want is wonderful, and the employees are always friendly!
