In all honesty, the first thing I wanted to do after I got my hotel was go to sleep. I was exhausted! Being one day shy of 21 weeks and traveling by plane for only my second time was enough to have me wanting to go to bed for the night. I knew I wanted to get out and get to the top of the Empire State Building (picture above is from the 86th floor looking out!) and to see Times Square, so I did just that!
Times Square was AMAZING! So full of life and so bright from all the lights. Oh man, there was so much to look at and so many things going on.
What mom would I be if the first store I went into was NOT Toys R Us?
Yep, that was one of the first things I did. If you think a toy store at Christmastime is hell, this was a toy store on steroids! Oh my gosh was it busy! It didn’t feel right to be there with my kids though, so I did a quick walk-through and left.
I loved all of the flashy billboards lining the way. Everywhere I looked there were either people or lights.
The best part of my first night was going to the top of the Empire State Building. This picture is looking down, at Macy’s, both of which (ESB and Macy’s) were just around the block from my hotel. I’m not a big fan of heights, and the crazy wind at the top did NOT help that, but I didn’t do too bad! I spent probably close to an hour up there, just looking out. So many people came and went, from all over the world. It was neat to hear everyone so excited and pointing out different buildings and just being in awe. I loved it.
Not the best picture, but this was around 10 at night, after a day of traveling and just shy of 21 weeks pregnant.
