Some of my favorite moments spent with my family have been when it’s just us, just the five of us, having fun together. We could be doing anything: going for a walk on a trail, having a water balloon fight in the backyard, cuddled up on the sofa while watching a movie. The simple moments. The moments when I can take a breath and just watch them. They are growing so fast: 10, 4, and 3 already! I love seeing their individual personalities, and when we had a sundae party, they let those personalities shine! We stopped at Walmart and loaded up on Smucker’s® Ice Cream Toppings, ice cream, and all kinds of fun toppings before setting up our sundae bar.
There really is something about coming home from a day of errands and work and settling into a nice bowl of ice cream with Smucker’s® Ice Cream Toppings. Honestly, you don’t even have to go crazy on the extra toppings, you can just use what you have at home! We always have pretzels, so crushing those up in a plastic baggie and topping with caramel sauce is an easy fix when you want something sweet and salty. The last couple of cookies in the sleeve? Crush those up! Marshmallows from your last campfire? Absolutely! And you don’t have kids in your house without a shaker or two of sprinkles!
Want to make your own Sundae Party? Here’s what you need:
Smucker’s® Ice Cream Toppings
An assortment of fun toppings like: sprinkles, crushed cookies, marshmallows, chocolate-coated candies, nuts, fresh fruit, gummy candies, “popping” candy
Whipped cream
Bowls and spoons
Wet wipes/napkins/washcloth for quick clean up of sticky fingers
An open mind to fun flavor combinations!
Want to add a little extra flair to your party utensils? We did this SUPER EASY craft in just a few minutes – Washi Tape Decorated Spoons!
I don’t know why, but the kids really liked the Smucker’s® Funfetti Magic Shell! Maybe because it’s bright blue? Yes, I totally used styrofoam bowls and plastic spoons – no one wants to deal with washing the dishes!
You guys, there is Smucker’s® Chocolate Pretzel Magic Shell! I forgot how fun this stuff is. Just shake for 20 seconds, pour on and it magically hardens into a shell on your ice cream! I felt like a little kid putting on all of my toppings and with all the giggles and “Mmm!”‘s coming from the kids, it was easy to forget about everything else and just enjoy my family. Exactly what a #SundaeFundae should be!
So tell me, what do you top your ice cream with? Are you conservative or do you like to get crazy and mix things up?
