We are obsessed, and that’s putting it mildly, with the Disney Descendants franchise. The DVD is available now in stores so this can only mean we will be watching it over and over. There are also TWO alternate endings. WHAT?! If you have kids who have caught the Descendants bug, this is a DVD you need in your collection.
If you’re curious and haven’t seen the movie yet, here’s a brief synopsis:
The story deepens in the music-driven sequel to the global smash hit “Descendants,” as the teenage sons and daughters of Disney’s most infamous villains — Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay (also known as Villain Kids or VKs) — try to find their place in idyllic Auradon.
When the pressure to be royally perfect becomes too much for Mal, she returns to her rotten roots on the Isle of the Lost where her archenemy Uma, the daughter of Ursula, has taken her spot as self-proclaimed queen of the run-down town. Uma, still resentful over not being selected by Ben to go to Auradon Prep with the other Villain Kids, stirs her pirate gang including Captain Hook’s son Harry and Gaston’s son Gil, to break the barrier between the Isle of the Lost and Auradon, and unleash all the villains imprisoned on the Isle, once and for all.
It’s a musical, with amazing songs and dancing. We actually pre-ordered the soundtrack months ago because we were so excited to hear all the new songs. As far as the movie goes, it was great. Not only did the kids love it, but I loved it. It’s such a fun franchise and different from the princess vibe since it stars the villain kids on one side and the princess/good guys kids on the other.
