There are some things that I have very vivid memories of from my childhood, things that always make me smile when I think of them. I used to love going grocery shopping with my mom. She was always prepared with her list and her coupons. I could tell by the items in our cart what our dinners would be, and seeing a bag of No Yolks meant we were having chicken cacciatore.
I also vividly remember getting to visit each and every “sample lady” for whatever little bite they were giving out. A stop at the bakery meant a cookie from behind the counter. Cruising down the aisles, a little red box hanging from a shelf distributing coupons would always catch my eye, and even if we had no plans to use said coupon, I still one (or two) and let it automatically feed a new one. Why was this little machine so fascinating?! I’ll never know, but I do know that visiting the grocery with my mom was something I loved and getting to cook with her in the kitchen was even better.
Her chicken cacciatore with No Yolks noodles was, and still is, one of my favorites. It’s a comfort food for me that she’s passed, and I love that the kids eat it up. There are so many other ways you can enjoy the noodles, I really think you could replace any noodle in a recipe with some variety of No Yolks!
A tuna casserole with No Yolks noodles would be a perfect homestyle comfort food. I haven’t had tuna noodle casserole in years and I’m ready to add it to our dinner plans so the kids can try it!
Can you imagine a warm bowl of chicken noodle soup, with fresh veggies and fluffy, light No Yolks noodles? The perfect fall and winter staple in any home.
You could add some spice and create a Mexican noodle dish – inspired by the flavors of your favorite tacos!
