3 Tips For Coping With The Fatigue Of A New Fitness Routine

Sharing is caring!

You want to take on a new fitness routine – good for you! Working out is great for staying fit and in shape, of course, but it’s best done when you want to feel healthy and strong, or if you’re dealing with feelings like anxiety and stress.

When you have a regular physical outlet to express these things through, you’re going to feel better within both your brain and body.

But none of that changes the fact that it’s exhausting to get started! Working out regularly is supposed to make you feel good, but you’re just feeling too tired to even get up the stairs at the end of the day.

Surely this isn’t what you’re supposed to be going through when you’re on a fitness kick? And no, it’s not! Some fatigue will be normal, as your body adjusts. But if you feel absolutely exhausted, you need to start checking in with tips like these.

Make Sure You’re Drinking Enough

Sometimes you won’t be! And on those days, you might feel more tired than usual. So stop what you’re doing, head to the nearest tap, water cooler, or vending machine, and get yourself a nice, refreshing drink.

You need to keep your water levels up anyway, but especially when you’re committed to working out.

When you don’t drink enough, you end up letting everything in your body dry out. And when you feel dry like this, you’re going to have very little energy left over. Your cells can’t release it for you – they’re gasping for a few drops of water!

Try Some Supplements

Sometimes you just need to get those vitamins and minerals inside you already! And because of that, when you’re trying to work out more often but you’re also incredibly tired, why not try some supplements?

You’ll want to focus on the things you’re actually deficient in, and you’ll need a doctor to confirm this for you – so making an appointment to talk about your fatigue and get a test is the first step.

But on top of that, you’ll also want to look into supplements that help with your long term energy, such as Tribulus terrestris. These can be taken as part of your usual diet.

Cut Back and Go a Bit Easier

And finally, it’s time to think about the kind of workout you’re doing. A.k.a., is it too much for you right now? Because working out can be good for you, of course. But you need to make sure you’re not pushing yourself too hard too soon.

Take it bit by bit for as long as you can, slowly increasing the time you put in or the number of reps you do. Cut back on anything you ‘hate’ doing, for the time being, such as planking or burpees. Add them in again later when your energy levels have adjusted. Slowly and surely wins the race!
