Now that we are in the throws of summer, you might have some parties planned, or just fun days out with the family. But as the temperatures outside increase, we want to take the temperature inside down as much as possible. So slaving over a hot stove or baking things in the oven can be quite far from your mind when the sun is shining. So here are some simple and fun no-bake treat ideas, that will be great for the family, for any summer parties or day trips that you have got planned.
Oreo Truffles
Oreo truffles are a winner at pretty much every event. They taste good, require very few ingredients and are quick and easy to make, as long as you’ve got yourself a food processor. The kids can even join in to make them too. So if you like the sound of them, you could click here to see how unbelievably easy these are to make and get them made. You could even make them into cookie pops, by putting the made truffles onto popsicle sticks. Even more fun for a child’s party this summer.
Jello Shots
Jello and summer just seem to go hand in hand. But there are many more fun ways to make jello, especially for a party. You could use melon, orange or lemon rinds as molds, once the contents have been scooped out. Pour the jello in, set in the fridge, and you’ve got some pretty and completely natural jello containers. No dishes required! They would look cute at any party or table setting.
Fruit Pizza
Using cookie dough, you can roll that out into a large circle, big enough for a pizza plate. Then spread some whipped topping on top, and decorate with fruit. The great thing is that you can make it suitable for the people it is for, using only their favorite fruits. You could even just use strawberries and blueberries to make a patriotic version for the 4th of July. It is quick and easy as well as looks and tastes amazing.
Ice Cream Sandwiches
Simple but effective and always a winner with children. Just take two cookies of your choice, and then place a scoop of ice cream on top of one of the cookies. Put the other cookie on top and then press down together, so it looks like you’ve made your own sandwich cookie. They need to be eaten right away, though, so might work better for things like a family BBQ.
Raspberry Cheesecake Jars
One cute way to take cheesecakes with you on a day trip, or to serve at parties, is to make some no-bake cheesecakes and put them in mason jars with lids. Start with the cheesecake base, usually some crumbled graham crackers as the first layer. Then do a layer or raspberry jam, topped with the cheesecake mix, made from cream cheese, cream, and sugar. Then keep on layering up, as many times as the jar will allow. Simple, easy, and super indulgent!
