At the beginning of any sort of change in life, the road ahead can seem very daunting and difficult. It may seem like an impossible task to get from the position you are in now to where you want to be can seem almost impossible. However, if you are focused enough, you can do anything you want, no matter how difficult it may seem at first. Reaching your ultimate fitness goal will take time and dedication and the ability to stay focused and motivated. But, no matter where you are now, you can achieve it.
Create Tangible Goals
Just saying I am going to get fitter, maybe enough to focus on some people. However, for most people, this is not good enough. You need to create long-term and short-term goals. So maybe the long-term goal is to get into that little black dress. However, you need some steps to help you get there. So, your first goal could be to join a dance class, or go for a brisk walk three times a week. Create small goals that help you achieve the long-term goal and it will be far easier. Also, by ticking your goals off, it will give you confidence and motivation.
Track Your Progress
At the beginning, the task can seem so out of reach, and you will not notice any drastic result straight away in the mirror. The thing is, you will be improving. You may begin to feel it in your strength or stamina. You will also find you can run further and faster. To help you keep going, you could track your progress. There are several ways you can do this. However, downloading an appropriate app may be the best way to keep track of your progress. Being able to see how much you have improved is a great way to keep you propelling forwards.
Recruit Your Friends
You will probably find that if you are looking in the mirror feeling like you want to get fit, you will have several friends who also want to get fit. So, why not motivate each other. Go for a long walk together, or joining up to a dance class, or even join a gym together. Having someone ls in the same boat can help motivate you and even offer a little friendly competition. At the end of the day, you both will benefit from by becoming much healthier versions of yourselves.
For some people focusing solely on ruining and building up their distances is enough to keep them going. However, for others, you need to embrace a little variety. Perhaps a run once a week is all you can manage of that activity. You can include swimming and cycling instead as a form of aerobic activity. You can join classes, and you can do some activities at home like yoga or pilates. You can even use various keep fit tools such as an endless rope machine. There are a lot of keep-fit pieces of equipment on the market, so why not look for something that appeals to you and get it. Having something at home will have to effect of reminding you to exercise.
