The Instant Pot can do some amazing things, so did you know you could make saucy BBQ chicken legs that are keto friendly? This recipe will become a staple when you want some great party food that’s keto friendly and fairly fast to make from start to finish!

You’ll finish these tasty wings off under the broiler to help seal in that flavor and get some crispy bits going, so don’t skip that step!

Instant Pot Keto BBQ Chicken Legs in less than 45 minutes, perfect for a party!

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds chicken legs
  • 1 cup tomato passata
  • ½ cup yellow onion, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Monk Fruit in the Raw
  • 2 teaspoons Worchestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
  • ¼ teaspoon liquid smoke
  • Pinch red pepper flakes, optional

Instructions

  1. Add 1 cups of water to the inner pot of the Instant Pot.
  2. Place chicken in a steamer basket over the water, or on the trivet.
  3. Mix ingredients for bbq sauce in a bowl, and then pour over chicken to coat the chicken legs.
  4. Close lid and set for a manual high-pressure cooking time of 10 minutes. Allow for a natural pressure release for an additional 10 minutes when the cooking time has finished.
  5. Vent any remaining pressure.
  6. Transfer chicken legs to a baking sheet and cover with additional sauce, if desired. 
  7. Set broiler to high.
  8. Broil on high for 5 minutes to finish the chicken legs off. This is an optional step.

Total time breaks down to 15 minutes to come to pressure, 10 minutes cooking time, 10 natural pressure release time
