How To Clean Smarter, Not Harder

Sharing is caring!

Do you ever sit down to look at your calendar and immediately regret the decision? We’re all SO busy, and it doesn’t matter what time of the year it is, there are always things we are adding and moving around on our calendars to make life work.

Moms, we absolutely need things in our life to be easy, to be almost “set it and forget it” so we can focus on getting kids to activities, dinner on the table, laundry washed and folded. We don’t mind our busy calendars – it means our kids are socializing, getting exercise, are healthy and being cared for.

What we do mind, is when we look up from that calendar and see the dishes piled up in the sink, the toothpaste in the bathroom sink, the disgusting toilet we can’t remember when we last cleaned.

Our lives get so busy that, admit it, we do forget or slack on the cleaning. If only it were easier, right? If only it were faster, easy enough for anyone in the family to quickly do… am I right?

I am raising my hand right now because that’s me. I hate cleaning the toilet, ok? It’s not a hard job, but it’s gross. It’s the one thing no one else seems to want to handle, so it always falls on me. Now, when people are sick, it’s easy to remember to give it a quick wipe down.

I’m also raising my hand because right now, there’s a pile of laundry in the bathroom. There’s a backyard that needs cleaned up, there’s dishes in the kitchen sink. Oh, the dishwasher ran, but it still needs emptied and I need to vacuum (again). Oh yeah, I’m keeping it real and I would hope that my fellow moms, with our busy schedules and calendars, will also keep it real and shrug it off. It happens.

All of that said, when it does come to cleaning, I like to keep it simple and easy and quick. The kids have a few chores that they handle (when they remember), and I do my best to do a load of laundry everyday so the mountain doesn’t grow too high. I can’t stand dishes in the sink, but it happens, so I just deal with it. In the bathroom, I like to keep what’s needed to clean it right in it.

You can also check out the Scrubbing Bubbles® Fresh Gel Toilet Cleaning Stamps, which just stamp the gel right under the rim using the dispenser, so every time someone flushes, a little bit dissolves into the water and leaves the bowl clean and smelling great. It’s so easy – you don’t even touch the cleaner or the toilet when you do this, and there’s nothing hanging in your toilet that you have to take out and throw away (gross).

Our bathroom is lacking storage big time, so we bought this over-the-toilet cabinet to hold things like our Scrubbing Bubbles® products, toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, air freshener. It wasn’t expensive, so if you too are lacking bathroom storage, it’s something to look into! Honestly, thinking about it, I think I found this at Walmart, just like where I bought the Scrubbing Bubbles® products we use all the time.

You have to love convenience when ours calendars look as crazy as they do!

So, while we can’t clone ourselves to get all of the jobs done at once, we can find ways to do them smarter (not harder)! #ExtendtheClean
