Being a girl mom is so much fun! One way to reduce the cost of expensive hair accessories like ribbons, bows, and clips is to make your own! Gather up leftover lengths of ribbon, check the clearance bins, and shop ahead for the best deals and use this tutorial to make hair clips for any season or holiday!
Halloween Hair Clips
Make your own Halloween hair clips
Materials
- Alligator clips
- 7/8" Halloween ribbon
Tools
- Hot glue/hot glue gun
- Scissors
Instructions
Plug in your glue gun while you're getting your supplies ready
Put a little bit of glue in the middle of the flat side of the clip and press your ribbon down
Now glue the whole front part of the clip and press the ribbon down
Open up your clip, leave an inch of extra ribbon and cut
Hot glue on the remaining 1" of ribbon and press on the inside of the clip
Now cut 2, 4" pieces and 1, 1.5" piece
Using 1 of the 4" pieces at a time, glue a dot in the center of the backside of the ribbon and wrap both sides in and press
Now do step 7 with your other 4" piece
Glue these together in a x pattern
Take your 1.5" piece of ribbon and glue on top of the x shaped bow and glue both sides under
Take your lined alligator clip and glue a line down the center, and press your ribbon bow on top gently
Since you're using hot glue your clip should dry quickly and is ready for Halloween!
