Coconut Oil & Raw Sugar Body Scrub

Sharing is caring!

Coconut Oil Raw Sugar Body Scrup DIY Recipe

I’m a girly girl. I think I’ve always been into hair and makeup but it’s not something I get to have fun with often because of time. So anyway, this sugar scrub is crazy easy to “make” and it makes you SO soft! I was surprised! It has to be the coconut oil, that stuff is magic!

Coconut Oil & Raw Sugar Body Scrub

What you’ll need:

a bowl and spoon
coconut oil (your choice of brand, I used Spectrum), two big spoonfuls
Sugar in the Raw  – you’ll use probably 1/4 a cup. You’ll want it really grainy so it exfoliates and rubs away all that dead and dry skin
optional – essential oil or oils of choice. I don’t have any, but you could do one or any combination you might enjoy

What you’ll do:

Mix the coconut oil (in it’s more ‘solid’ state) with the sugar. Blend well and add a drop or two of the essential oil/oils if you choose to.

I applied this to dry skin, focusing on areas that were dry (heels, knees, elbows). It starts to get really slippery with the coconut oil melting, but just keep scrubbing in gentle circular motions. You’ll rinse with warm water, use a gentle body soap to lather up completely (I used a shea and oatmeal generic soap, always leaves me feeling soft and moisturized), and then pat or air dry.

Your hands also get benefited and wind up soft!

I did not have any left, but if you do, you can store in airtight container to use again. Keep in a cool space so the oil doesn’t melt! I kept mine in a plastic bowl with a lid, but if you make this for a gift there are tons of cute glass jar options that you can add ribbon to and pretty up!
