Sharing is caring!

Let’s all be honest here. We all find work a bit boring. You’ll be sat at your desk, dreaming of winning the lottery and sitting on a beach sipping cocktails and loving life. But the harsh reality is that you’re always going to have to work, right up until the ripe old age of around 60 to 65. Maybe we shouldn’t have started the article with such a harsh remark, but as they say, the truth hurts! Unless you are one of the lucky, very very small minority that is able to win the lottery, we’re going to be stuck working for pretty much our entire existence. So, what is the solution to this misery? Well, there are a few things you can do actually. We’re going to try and relieve you from those boring days and make working life actually fun! If that’s even possible… read on to find out more.

Are You In The Right Job?

This is the first question you should be asking yourself. If you find yourself struggling to get through the day without falling to sleep, then chances are you’re definitely in the wrong job. Even if you once had a burning passion for it in the beginning, it can soon die out. The bad thing about working life is it is just so repetitive. You’ll go into the office, or wherever your place of work is, and do the same thing day in day out. Just like if you ate the same food for breakfast each day, you’re obviously going to get bored. But is leaving your job necessarily the right answer? Well, in a lot of cases it is, but in others, you might just need to find a way to ignite that burning passion again. When you’re stuck in a rit, this might seem hard to do. What we suggest doing is searching for a different position in the job. Not necessarily a promotion, but just do something that involves different daily tasks. It should help to make the day go so much quicker, and the variation will keep your brain engaged. You could also try and make the working day a bit more broke up. Obviously we can’t tell you to have breaks whenever you life, but there are ways around it. If you work on a computer, you’re allowed a five minute break away from the screen every hour. So why not just get up, go for a leisurely stroll, and let your mind wander from the worries of work. Just this short time away from the computer will help re-engage your brain.

Progression

Sometimes you’re bored simply because you’ve been stuck at the bottom for as long as you can remember. Being at the bottom really is rubbish. You’ll spend your working day doing everything nobody else wants to do, and generally be talked down to. The reason so many people stay at the bottom is fear of not being able to progress. But if you don’t try, you’re never going to know. The more you push yourself, and the more you progress, the more you’re going to grow as a person. Obviously, progression brings pay rises, which is music to a lot of people’s ears. But it also offers you the chance to open up new opportunities, learn new skills, and make new friends! It can help relight the flame that you thought had disappeared.

Find A New Path

Sometimes the career you’re in just isn’t the one for you, and there comes a time when you just need to go in a different direction. Luckily for you, there are plenty of new directions for you to take depending on what you like to do. Some of them require you to do a retrain, or even return to education again. For example, you could do an online Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration which will open so many doors for you moneywise and progression. But if this doesn’t tickle your fancy, there are plenty of other online courses that you could go into. If you like sports, you could go into fitness or coaching. If you go back into education the world will literally become your oyster. It might set you back time and money wise, but in the end, your dream career will be more than worth it.

So now we should have put you on the right path to help cure your boredom at work. There is so much more to life than staring at the same four walls that you’ve come to hate. Branch out, spread your wings, and find a career that will keep you happy for a lifetime.
