3 Ways To Make Yourself Go To The Gym More Often

We’ve all been there; you make a promise to yourself to start going to the gym, and you fulfill it for a few weeks or a couple of months. Eventually, you reach a point where you just can’t find the motivation to go. Each day starts the same; you tell yourself you’ll go, but you never do. Once you get into the cycle of making excuses, it’s very hard to get out of it. 

Hard, but not impossible. 

Today, we’ll go through three ideas that will help you go to the gym more often, allowing you to see the results you’ve always craved!

Create daily schedules

A lot of the time, you don’t go to the gym because you convince yourself you don’t have enough time. This can very quickly be stopped by creating a daily schedule for yourself. Sort your life out, making time for the gym a few times per week. Now, you know what you’re doing and when you’re doing it. So, you no longer have the excuse of not being able to fit a gym session into your schedule. You’ve specifically designed your days around going to the gym, providing the added motivation to actually go. 

Joint bootcamps 

A bootcamp is basically a form of group exercise where you are with different people and get put through your paces. The benefit of this is that you have a bootcamp fitness instructor that will tell you what to do and set your workouts for you. This takes away the need to plan your workouts, which many of us use as an excuse to avoid the gym. Oh, you can’t work out today because you don’t know what to do when you get to the gym. Fair enough, but joining a bootcamp prevents this from becoming an excuse. Not to mention you have more accountability on your shoulders as the instructor is relying on you to show up! 

Purchase a workout program

Similarly, if group workouts aren’t really your thing, you could purchase a workout program online. Now, this is also a great alternative to hiring a personal trainer, which can be super expensive and a bit awkward. It’s not always nice having to work so closely with a PT, which is why workout programs are so beneficial. In essence, you purchase a program that gives you a set of workouts to do for a period. Most programs extend over 12 weeks, at which point you can either repeat it or buy another one. It should help you go to the gym because you have paid for something and want to get your money’s worth, and also because you have your gym routines planned out way in advance. 

Finding the motivation to train and go to the gym is all about recognizing why you keep making excuses. Is it because you don’t think you have enough time on your hands? Is it because you don’t know what to do? Whatever the reason, there are ways to counter these thoughts and get yourself in the mindset to attend the gym more regularly.
