Strawberry Lime Sugar Scrub

Strawberry Lime Sugar Scrub

Being in the kitchen, mixing up a new sugar scrub, it always smells so amazing. It smells like sugar, of course, but from all the oils and extracts it can be anything from light and fruity to warm and cozy. Getting creative with simple ingredients is fun, you can make anything you want, any combination that speaks to you. If you work in small batches, you can really explore different scents and combinations and not waste coconut oil and sugar. DIY sugar scrubs are an easy way to get started with making your own bath and body products.

This combo – strawberry and lime – absolutely SCREAMS summer. It’s light, it’s fruity, the strawberry extract gives the scrub a light pink color and of course, really helps exfoliate dry summer skin.

You’ll start with about 1 cup of coconut oil (not melted) and 1/2 to 1 cup of sugar. The more sugar you use, the rougher your scrub will be. Depending on your skin and where you plan to use this scrub, that’s how I would adjust the sugar amount. I almost always go for a coarse scrub so I can really get that dry skin taken care of.

Mix together the coconut oil and sugar. Add in 10 drops of lime essential oil and about 1/2 to 1 teaspoons of strawberry extract. You can adjust these however you’d like to be a lighter or heavier scent. Mix together and store in an airtight jar for up to 7-10 days.

It’s simple, doesn’t require a ton of extra ingredients and things to buy, and makes a cute little homemade gift.
