When given the opportunity to check out O’Charley’s for our first time, I wanted to make sure that we took the whole family because let’s be realistic here, we don’t get to go out just the two of us very often. There a few things that always give a restaurant bonus points when dining with children of any age, and O’Charley’s scores big!
First, kids eat free! With the purchase of one adult entree, one kids meal is free! This is for kids under 10 but it’s PERFECT for when you take the whole family. My kids LOVED the options they had and even struggled a bit on what to pick.
They ended up ordering: pasta with marinara sauce, beef tips, and macaroni and cheese and fries with a side of oranges. I was impressed with the amount of food they received too. Sometimes kids meals are pretty skimpy but they had plenty to eat! Haley ordered the Cotton Candy Fizz to drink, and check this out!

We did order an appetizer, which I tend to do when we take the kids because it helps with keeping them occupied. We did the Top Shelf Combo which was perfect because it has Spicy Jack Cheese Wedges, our famous Chicken Tenders and Overloaded Potato Skins which meant something for everyone! Those potato skins were AWESOME, crispy and salty but cheesy. I would definitely order those, in fact, I could eat just those!
This one is a treat for the adults, but O’Charley’s offers all day every day $4 House Margaritas and these are HUGE! I was totally expecting a small glass (like I’ve had at other places ahem), but this margarita was big and crazy good!
Want an even sweeter deal? Dine on Wednesdays and you can score FREE PIE! I mean, $4 margaritas and free pie? Can I move in?
The overall atmosphere was very laid-back. It’s a place you can take the family and not get dressed up for, or you can take a date and dress up and not feel out of place.
Our server was great and very attentive but also understood that kids can take FOREVER to make a decision when ordering and gave us plenty of time.
Would I visit again? Yes. I would even take the kids which says a lot! I have no complaints other than I wish it was closer than the 20 or so minutes it takes to get there!
