With busy family schedules and the weather being nicer, no one wants to spend forever putting together a meal. I know I’d much rather be outside enjoying the fresh air and sun than stuck in a hot kitchen, slaving away.

- Be a good role model! You are going to have to try them as well, so grab a fork and dig in. By setting a good example, you’re silently encouraging your kids to follow suit.
- Talk it up! While they are in the microwave, you can start to smell the veggies right away. Talk about the new flavors, how excited you are to try them, how healthy they are, how strong they make you. Make it a positive situation!
- Don’t force it. If they start to throw a fit about trying something new, it’s not worth it. Keep being a good role model, but never force it. When you force it, it’s easy for them to just shut down and never want to try a new food. You’ll know when your child is about to throw a fit, so back off when they reach that point and give it another try in a few days.
