When you’re about to be off on a road trip, you need to do some pretty hefty planning before you get into your car. After all, you could be on the road for weeks on end – you’re going to need to pack enough stuff and plenty of healthy snacks to eat and drink.
You’ll also need to come up with ideas for things to do and places to go. And while you’re at it, we’ve got a couple of ideas for you to include in your road trip plans. They’re a bit of fun that can only make the experience better!
Set Some Challenges
The best road trips always have some underlying fun at their core. Namely, some challenges those on the road trip can participate in – and even win prizes from.
It depends on your travel budget of course, but maybe you could set up a scavenger hunt or bingo, and whoever completes it or gets a line first gets the best room in the hotel? Or maybe some extra spending money might be up for grabs?
You could even set everyone their own secret challenge to complete, and when they do so they get a few extra snacks while they’re on the journey.
This is a pretty good one if you’ve got kids to keep entertained; just make sure you’ve set some rules over sharing and snatching prizes!
Spend Some Time at an RV Park
When you visit an RV park, you open up your road trip to all kinds of new experiences. That means you’ve got a lot more to do while you’re on the road, as well as new people to meet and a lot more fun to have.
For one you can hook up to power and water, and even get online with a stable internet connection! Being at an RV park gives you a good chance to get in touch with loved ones, whose messages have been slowly drip fed to you thanks to the poor signal you’ve been experiencing otherwise!
And most RV parks are close to the bigger attractions of the nearest city or town. You’ll be within easy visiting distance of various places, and then you can come back to a comfortable and cozy spot to spend the night.
Honestly, if you haven’t considered stopping off at an RV campground before now, make sure you add the idea to your plans ASAP.
Going on a Road Trip? You Can Make it Even More Fun!
Road trips are fun as is, but you can make them even more fun with ideas like the ones above. They’re made for extended periods in a vehicle together, and they can help you all laugh along with each other even when you’re 12 hours deep.
Spend some time coming up with games and challenges before you set off, get some prizes together (if you can), and make sure you’ve got some RV campgrounds picked out from the route you’re planning to take.
