It doesn’t matter if it is your first child, your second, or your third. You’re always going to be worried about bringing this child into the world. There’s just so much to think about and so many things to discuss with your partner that it can feel like your head is going to explode. If you do already have children, it might be as though you have forgotten everything you learned the first time around. Some put it down to the baby brain, but we think it’s because of the worries that fill your mind and cloud your vision. But at the same time as feeling this tremendous worry, you also feel that insane feeling of excitement. You can’t help but dream of the days you’re going to spend cuddling this little bundle of joy and imagining what they’re going to turn out like when they’re older. So, we’re going to try and keep that feeling of joy for you, and take away the feeling of worry that you have by discussing some of the major worries that moms do have. Keep on reading to find out more.
Getting The Room Ready
This is one of the first things you will start to do. Buying things for a new baby is just so exciting, but boy does it cost a lot of money.  This is why you’ll stress so much about getting the room ready because this is only a fraction of the money that you’re going to have to spend to get you and your home ready for the new bundle of joy. To get the room ready at first, you should just buy the simplest of things. Don’t start spending a ton of money in the beginning because you don’t know what’s going to change as time goes on. A pregnant woman’s mind changes like the wind. But you might want to consider crib mattress sizes, and getting a big enough one so it lasts them until they move into another crib, or perhaps even a bed. Most children are around two or three by the time they move into a proper bed. A changing mat and a big storage cupboard are also essential. Focusing on the decor of the room is another thing you can do early on. As for everything else such as clothes and toys, they can come at a later date.
Understanding Your Bodily Changes
Your bodily changes are going to become a worry, we know that for sure. New moms, in particular, have this worry about how their body is changing, and how it’s going to change again in the future. However, it’s important to remember that your body is going to change in the same way that every single other moms body is going to change. Your back is going to hurt, and your ribs are going to hurt depending on where the baby is lying. Your ankles are going to swell, your hair is going to thin, and you’ll have this incredible baby glow that masks it all. The changes aren’t permanent, although we would recommend that you do your pelvic floor exercises to strengthen that, or there may be an accident or two coming your way in the future. Your body changes so drastically because your baby is demanding everything from it. However, as long as you relax, get plenty of sleep each day, and eat the right foods, you’ll be doing your body a huge favour.
What To Do About Money
This will no doubt be the biggest stress for most moms. Knowing what to do about money isn’t exactly easy, but it’s something you have nine months to figure out. It might be that you have to work overtime during the first few months to save those extra pennies, and doing a strict financial plan looking at your reduced pay whilst you’re on maternity leave is essential. There are so many families out there who find a way with far less than what you might have, so don’t let the stress of money take over.
Stress & Anxiety
Stress and anxiety is definitely a real emotion to feel as an expecting mom, especially a new mom. It’s the worry of what the birthing process is going to be like, and all of the sleepless nights to come. For stress and anxiety, you could talk to your midwife to make a good plan based around comfort and pain killers. Coming up with a plan that makes sure your partner is willing to get up in the night just as much as you are will help to combat those sleepless nights.
