Awesome Free Apps To Help You Save Money

Over the past few months, I’ve been trying out a few apps to see how they could contribute to our financial wellness. I wanted an easy way to save money because that’s one thing that it seems I can either do really well or I just plain suck at. I also wanted to try “lazy” couponing – not spending hours cutting out coupons or looking for the best deals, so I found an app that’s become pretty easy to use. I wanted to share these free apps to help you save money because I know you’ll love them and want to start using them.

Digit

This app has been around for a while and I’ve tried to use it before but it wouldn’t work with our bank! I was bummed but I decided to be patient and when our bank was bought out and changed names, the app ended up working. Score! It was easy to set up, so I started with two goals to save towards – “rainy day” and “credit card”. Now, once those goals were set up I did absolutely nothing. I let the app do it’s thing.

See, Digit analyzes your spending (so it knows when you have purchases coming up, especially ones that repeat like utilities and mortgage/rent) and it saves an amount of money each day that you won’t even notice. It will also protect you from having your bank account go to low with it’s low balance protection.

My first transfer was set up on September 24, 2018. Since then, it has taken out various amounts based on our spending and moved it towards these goals. Since then, Digit has saved over $180! AND I DIDN’T EVEN NOTICE THIS!

Can you imagine if you just set it up on January 1st and let it go until the end of October for a holiday shopping fund? Or a travel fund? Or an additional debt payment, mortgage payment, whatever you wanted?! Set it up today and start saving toward any number of goals you have in mind!

Fetch Rewards

This is one of those apps that just becomes a habit once you start to use it. You simply take a photo of your store receipt and earn points that you can redeem towards rewards. They have bonus points for different products, so if you happen to buy those you can earn more.

It’s just a simple thing to do before you toss the receipt and while it’s not really saving, you can cash out for a gift card or other reward.

When you join, be sure to use my referral code, it will give you 3,000 point to start with!

Ibotta

This is another grocery app that reminds me of digital coupons and once you’ve earned $20 cashback you can cash it out. There are often extra cash bonuses you can take advantage of and my favorite would be the “any brand” offers since we often buy generic brands. If you use coupons, you know that generic brands don’t get many (if any at all) coupons, so I can redeem my receipt on Ibotta and earn money back!

If you use my referral link for this one, you’ll get started with $10! What?!
