DIY Peppermint Foot Scrub

Who from the age of 9 to 90 doesn’t love to pamper or be pampered in some way?  Over the next couple of weeks I will be bringing you some inexpensive recipes for homemade beauty products from your pantry.  Foot scrubs are a fabulous and quick way to treat yourself at home.  Just a few minutes to mix together, and just as quick to apply and see results – they make a fabulous gift in a pretty jar with a simple tag attached. Teachers, friends, neighbors, all will appreciate the gift of sweet smelling luxury.

For this Peppermint Foot Scrub, we are using mostly ingredients from the pantry (and one from under the sink) to create a safe and inexpensive pampering product. This means that even your little ones can safely help make and use them!

I have included a sheet of printable tags, they are sized to fit between the ring and lid of a wide mouthed mason jar, but you can also print them on a sturdy cardstock, punch a hole, and tie on with a pretty ribbon.

Make this easy DIY peppermint foot scrub for yourself or as a gift!

Materials

  • 1 cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. liquid castille soap
  • 2 Tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1 Tbsp. Peppermint Extract (or essential oils, but tone it down and use just 2-3 drops)

Instructions

    1. Combine all ingredients together in a large glass bowl, mix well to evenly distribute everything
    2. Transfer ingredients to a container with an airtight lid.

To use: Apply a generous amount of scrub to feet and rub it in working in a circular motion for 2-3 minutes. Rinse and pat dry- be careful feet will be a bit slippery from oil. Put on socks to help the oil absorb into skin even better.
